Case Study - Flore

Project Management Apprenticeship

"I have had a RADICAL shift in my career! Thanks to Radical, I can say I now work in The Shard with one of the top companies in the UK. My experience has been exceptional, with great mentors and patient helpers. The friendly team at Radical have kept me sharp and ready from training to interview and keep on making sure I am on my path to success while working in my first corporate job. I would recommend Radical to all those lost in their career path or just need a push towards your best future. Thank you specifically to Kirsty Palmer! Thank you Radical, for an awesome beginning to my career!"

Our Young Radical was super excited to secure the role and even more excited to shop for a new wardrobe as her role was based at The Shard. As you can probably tell from the photo she sent us, she is loving her new work life and is proud to be part of Mitie, as she stands – a big smile on her face - outside The Shard.

Flore was a talented and dynamic young graduate who applied for an apprenticeship with one of our Radical partners, Mitie. This ambitious young woman used her entrepreneurial flare to start up a hair business during the pandemic and had previously secured a wealth of experience within the hospitality industry. The Project Manager Apprenticeship had piqued her interest because it offered the opportunity to develop her potential and grow a career within a large organisation.

The Radical team recognised that Flore was an ideal candidate for the role and worked intensively to develop and submit a CV that truly reflected her many talents within 90 minutes to meet the Mitie deadline. Having secured an interview, our Young Radical received coaching from both the Mitie Foundation and Radical to prepare for her first stage interview which she totally smashed.

One of just two (out of the seven) candidates who made it to second stage, the feedback we received about Flore;ss performance was exceptional so we knew she was in with a great chance of securing the role.

For her second stage interview, Flore was asked to prepare a presentation on how Mitie services could improve her local community. Flore wasn’t phased by the scope of the project and got straight down to work on her ideas. Our Radical intern, Izzy, offered some top tips and tricks to help Flore along the way.

As part of the process, we encouraged Flore to do a practice run with the Radical team in preparation for the ‘real deal’ and we were blown away by her critical thinking and innovative ideas. A few minor tweaks and she was set to impress. And impress she did! Flore was offered the job and is now working as a Project Manager for Mitie.
