Our Story.

Would you believe us if we told you that it all started with a piece of carrot cake?

In 2017, one of our Founders, Em, met Chan - a Black, queer, care experienced and formerly homeless woman who, after serving a six-year custodial sentence at HMP Downview, secured a job that changed the trajectory of her life forever.

How?

Well...

Emma introduced Chan to Oli, who, at the time, was Head of People at Honest Burgers.

To cut a long story short, Chan made a carrot cake - and Oli said that Chan's carrot cake was the "best f*cking piece of carrot cake" that he had ever tasted; she was offered a job with them on her release.

Fast forward six years and Chan has inspired the launch of two distinct brands.

B-Radical: A trusted diversity training and recruitment advisory and consultancy partner that helps businesses to do something about EDI, as opposed to just talking about it.

And Radical Recruit: A charity that supports those furthest from the labour market to secure meaningful and well-paid employment through sponsorship partnerships with some of the country's biggest employers.

We're radically changing the fundamental nature of how businesses turn their diversity, CSR, ESG and social value commitments into meaningful action.
